DC is #9 and Atlanta is #7, but that really doesn't matter much

The Pac12 has #2 Los Angeles, #6 San Fran-Oakland, #11 Phoenix and #12 Seattle, and they can't get their league to take off at all. The SEC has such a far superior product that their games on CBS and ESPN are the highest rated hands-down year after year despite only one top-10 market (Atlanta) in the foot print. Sure, UTexas will help them get more of Dallas and Houston, but that's chump change because the SEC already does well there. Likewise, the SEC doesn't need VT or UVA to get DC television viewers because their current games already out-rate other conferences's games there.

Besides, the whole TV-market discussion is becoming more irrelevant each year due to streaming, and the massive shift of money and viewers to those platforms.
